Hard Knock Life!! 5012 SAAF

From a husband and wife team that both worked in the South African Airforce.

The letter translated…

My husband was a flight engineer (F/sgt). He flew Dakota and DC4 from 1968 from Swartkops and Waterkloof airforce bases. The watch was standard issue to all flight personnel. The AF number was put on every watch to keep a record of who had it……and to prevent theft.

I xxxxxx (His wife) worked in flight stores and had to swop the watches whenever there was a problem or they needed fixing/servicing. This watch was purchased when they were made available to buy for flight personnel. It was very sentimental……
My husband also enjoyed his watch. The one we bought he wore long after he left the Airforce. He had it serviced, but now the parts are no longer available. Thank you that you will now do the repairs to the watches and that you will get them to where they belong
